OCSSC RULES & REGULATIONS:
· 5v5 with minimum of 2 girls on the field at all times
· Each team can use a goalie or play without using 1 “defender only designated player”
· Goalie must remain within 8 yards of goal parallel to sideline until final 5 minutes of game
· If goalie comes out of goal box, a penalty kick will be awarded to opposing team
· If using a defender instead of a goalie, no hands are allowed
· Defender must stay on defensive side of field at all times
· Defender/Goalie cannot score a goal before the final 5 minutes of play
· Roster size: 8-12 players
· Goals:
7 feet high by 8 feet wide minimum (7’X10’ preferred)
· Field: Dimensions are 35 yards long by 25 yards wide
· Penalty Area: Designated by colored discs in the sand at each end of the court, 8 yards from and parallel to the baselines
· Corners will be marked with cones or flags
· Ball is size 5 and inflated to 7 lbs pressure
· Time: Each game consists of 2 twenty minute periods with 5 minutes rest in between
· Games may end in a tie until playoffs, where penalty shots will take place after 40 minutes have expired using 5 players from each team in a shoot out
· Penalty kicks will take place from the center of these imaginary lines
· Goalkeepers must remain on goal line between goal posts during Penalty Kicks
· Refs may call fouls during play as a result of overly aggressive or dangerous play
· Fouls will result in free kick from spot of infraction unless in penalty area, which would result in a Penalty Kick
· Free Kicks must be direct and defenders must remain no closer than 5 yards from the kicking spot
· Defenders may not form walls in front of free kicks; they must be within 5 yards of an offensive player
· Passbacks to goalkeeper cannot occur twice consecutively or a Corner Kick will be awarded to opposing team
· Corner Kicks are also given when a player of the defensive team touches the ball out of bounds through the base line
· No slide tackles are allowed
· There are NO offside calls
Gender Rule
· Must have minimum of 2 females on the field at all times
· Every 3rd pass must be directed towards or touch a female teammate
· If the defense steals the ball or take over possession, the pass rule starts over
· A Free Kick will be awarded to the opposing team at the “spot of the initial pass” if the Gender Rule is broken
